Presented in cooperation with Virginia's Center for Innovative Technology, Broadband 101 Workshops are half-day, interactive workshops that explore and explain the jargon, acronyms, benefits and misconceptions about telecommunication technologies commonly known as "broadband." We cover the basics of broadband with humor and history, providing the tools necessary to determine where and how broadband connectivity can best benefit your small or medium business, organization or home.

Thirty-Eight Workshops have been presented all over the state of Virginia, each focusing on:

• Understand terminology and acronyms
• Attain an unbiased understanding of the technologies commonly referred to as "broadband"
• Gain an awareness of applications, efficiencies, and opportunities that are enabled by broadband
• Safeguard their operations through the implementation of adequate security and networking controls
